Charmaine Kofler, Executive Director
Pastor Charmaine joined NLGH in 2005 as Ministry Coordinator and was promoted Program Director in 2007. She accepted the responsibilities of Executive Director on an Interim basis in October 2011 before being appointed Permanent Executive Director in 2012. Charmaine provides Christ-centred leadership to the staff and students. Under guidance of the Board of Directors, she manages the daily operations of the home, including staffing, programming, finances and fundraising. Charmaine came to Canada 13 years ago from South Africa with her husband Daniel and children Kayleigh and Matt. When asked why she works here Charmaine said, “ This is the best job in the world. I get to see God’s hand at work every day of my life. Working with the staff and young women at New Life is such a blessing!”

Linda Adams, Discipleship CoordinatorLinda joined the team in the fall of 2005 as Discipleship Coordinator. She has a diploma in Behavioural Science and has worked with Pathways Mental Health as well as Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. Linda’s passion is to teach and equip these young women in finding their own sense of purpose and to be able to pursue a God honouring way of life. Linda teaches a variety of Christ centred and discipleship classes.Linda also speaks to Women’s Groups in the area, taking with her the same message of hope and growth that she brings to the students.
Linda is married to Ian and has 3 children, Kate, Matthew and Jacob. Her daughter Kate is pursuing a career in music, her son Matt is currently at teachers college and Jacob is finishing high school.

Dawn Bailey-Elbourne, Ministry Coordinator
Dawn recently joined the staff as Ministry Coordinator. Dawn lives with her husband Dave and son Clayton. She brings with her over 20 years in ministry with youth and their families . Her previous positions have been with Welcome Hall Mission, Montreal, Toronto City Mission and Fresh Start School, Colchester, England. Dawn’s heart for worship has been key in her own healing and as a prodigal daughter that has come home, she seeks to empower and enrich the lives of the students as she seeks to point them to Jesus.

Sarah Parlane, Hospitality Coordinator.
In 2006, after volunteering for two weeks, Sarah was hired as our Hospitality Coordinator. Her education includes 3 years in Architectural Technologist studies and 1 year at Capernwray Bible School in B.C. In 2009 she married Kevin and looks forward to a family in the future. Sarah is responsible for stewardship of all the food and household supplies we receive, as well as the nutritional health of the students. Sarah loves the relational aspect of her position, interacting with and serving the young women on a daily basis.

Cherisse Swarath - Education CoordinatorCherisse Swarath has joined our team as Education Coordinator. She has moved to the Trenton area from Sarnia with her husband Steve and their three sons, Caleb, Elijah and Tim. Cherisse has pastored outreach ministries for over 13 years and brings a heart for women’s ministry. She has a Christian world view, having represented third world countries through the Advocacy Network for Compassion. Her vision is to help the young women plug into Christ and get to know God in order to overcome their issues

Candice Ens, Admin Support
Candice joined NLGH in October 2010 as overnight staff. She has over 20 years of business experience and in December 2011 was hired as administrative support. She enjoys providing office support to the staff and students as well as writing the newsletters and maintaining contact with our supporters. Candice has 3 married children and six grandchildren and lives in Picton. “I’ve never had a better job in my life”, she says. “No drive down the DVP to work, swans outside the office door, and God’s handiwork in the lives of the young women here. I have learned that Miracles do happen every single day of our lives.”
